    at www.halazawaj.com. We are a matrimonial service built specifically for Ethiopian,
    Eritrean, and Somali Muslim communities worldwide.

• Full name, date of birth, gender, and location

• Email address and password

• Faith and religious practice information (sect, prayer habits, Quran recitation)

• Personal background (ethnicity, education, profession, languages)

• Marriage intentions and partner preferences

• Profile photos (private by default)

• Bio and personal description

• Wali (guardian) name and contact details (optional)

• Messages sent through our platform

• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card details)

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, browser, and operating system

• IP address and approximate location

• Pages visited and time spent on the platform

• Login times and activity patterns
   

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your profile

• Show you compatible matches based on your preferences

• Enable communication between members

• Process subscription payments

• Notify your wali when you have enabled wali CC notifications

• Send you platform updates, match suggestions, and community news (you can unsubscribe at any time)

• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and inappropriate behaviour

• Improve our platform and user experience

• Comply with legal obligations

 

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We never sell your personal data to any third party.
We share data only with:

 

• Stripe — for secure payment processing

• Wix — our website hosting platform

• Law enforcement — only when legally required

• Our moderation team — to review reported content and ensure community safety
   

Your profile is only visible to other registered HalalZawaj members. Photos are private by default and only visible to members you personally approve.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are based in the UK or European Union, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you

• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data

• Deletion — request we delete your account and all associated data

• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

6. Data Retention

Your profile photos are private by default. They are only visible to members you personally approve. We treat faith and religious information as sensitive data under GDPR Article 9 and process it only with your explicit consent provided during sign-up.

8. Children

HalalZawaj is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover a user is under 18, their account will be immediately deleted.
